Circumstances

Patrolling in Drury Lane in the early hours of 26 December he was hit by a car that approached from the Long Acre direction, it hit PC Hallett than crashed into a shop. He died of his injuries in Charing Cross Hospital.

In the early hours of 26th December 1921, PC Hallett was patrolling along Drury Lane when he was truck by a car that came from the Long Acre direction and then crashed into a shop.

William died from his injuries, two days later, in Charing Cross Hospital.
