Died in hospital two days after being seriously injured when he was struck by a car while on duty in Drury Lane.
In the early hours of 26th December 1921, PC Hallett was patrolling along Drury Lane when he was truck by a car that came from the Long Acre direction and then crashed into a shop.
William died from his injuries, two days later, in Charing Cross Hospital.
