Having retired from the service, he re-joined in response to a request for volunteers. Having been attested he collapsed and died in the street whilt making his way home.

Collapsed and died in the street while making his way home from his attestation. After having previously retired from the service in 1905 he re-joined in response to a request for volunteers.
