Killed in a road traffic accident while returning home in the early hours after policing New Year’s Eve celebrations in London.

About 3:00am on New Year’s Day 2003, as he returned home after policing New Year’s Eve celebrations in London, PC Ezobi’s car crashed through the central barrier and overturned on the A23 near Bolney, West Sussex.

He had served two years as a probationer with Sussex Police before transferring to the Metropolitan Police and an Acting Sergeant based in Brighton, said “As a police officer, Tok was an example to us all, always extremely well turned out, professional, enthusiastic and whose standards were very high. He had a fantastic sense of humour and was fun to work with. He was one of the most laid-back people I have met. We are all shocked by his death and he will be dearly missed by a lot of people”.

PC Ezobi is survived by his partner who was six months pregnant, their one-year-old son and his two stepsons, aged nine and six.
