Circumstances

Whilst on duty in 1904 he was struck by a cyclist causing a fracture to his skull which was not diagnosed at the time but from which he suffered headaches. Seven years later he collapsed on street duty dying from cerebral degeneration while in hospital.

Died in hospital having collapsed in the street as a result of cerebral degeneration, from which he had suffered headaches, seven years after being struck by a cyclist while on duty in 1904 and sustaining a fractured skull that was not diagnosed at the time.
