Died in South Tyrone Hospital four days after being shot by gunmen following a report of terrorists in a house in Dungannon, County Tyrone.

Circumstances

On 4th April 1942 Constable Forbes along with other police officers went to Ann Street, Dungannon following a report of IRA members in a house in that locality. Shots were fired at police and Constable Forbes, who was injured was conveyed to the South Tyrone Hospital for treatment.

On 8th April 1942 Constable Forbes succumbed to his injuries.
