Died from his injuries the day after the passenger train, on which he was travelling, was in collision with a train carrying ballast at Billing.

Died from his injuries the day after the passenger train, on which he and two other officers were travelling, was in collision with a train carrying ballast at Billing, as they returned from the Quarter Sessions at Northampton. Superintendent Lewis Poole died the previous day and PS Isaac Wilson died on 14th November.
