Died from his injuries the day after the passenger train on which he was travelling was in collision with a train carrying ballast at Billing.
PC Barrett was returning from the Quarter Sessions at Northampton with two colleagues, Superintendent Lewis Poole who died the previous day and PS Isaac Wilson who died on 14th November.
