Circumstances

While returning from court in an unmarked police car he stopped to assist at the scene of an accident on the A12 at Kelvedon. As he walked back to warn oncoming vehicles he was struck and killed by a car.

Killed while returning from court in his unmarked police vehicle when, after stopping to assist at the scene of an accident on the A12 in Kelvedon, he was struck by a car as he walked back to warn oncoming vehicles.
