Summoned to deal with two drunk men who had caused damage he was stabbed in the stomach whilst attempting to apprehend them.

Died after being stabbed in the stomach with a sword while attempting to apprehend one of three drunken men who had broken the windows and abused a woman at the Musick House on Rosemary Lane, London. All three men were found guilty of the Watchman’s murder.
