Died the day after being fatally injured by a terrorist booby-trap bomb that exploded as he and his colleague were checking an abandoned stolen car.
The explosion, at Lissaraw, near Crossmaglen, County Antrim, also fatally wounded his colleague, Constable Samuel Donaldson, and he, too, died on this day.
