Circumstances

He was on night duty and keeping watch on a factory near Forres, Morayshire that had been suffering a spate of thefts. He had taken up a position near to the factory on the railway line that ran between Forres and Dunphail and struck by an early morning train. He sustained fatal injuries and was found deceased on the line.
