Killed when the police car in which he was the observer swerved and overturned at Woolaston near Lydney.
PC Pursehouse was killed and another officer was seriously injured when their police car struck the grass verge, crashed through a fence and overturned in a field at Woolaston near Lydney, while travelling towards Chepstow, on the main A48 Gloucester to South Wales road.
Both Paul, who was acting as the observer, and the driver were thrown from the car as it overturned after swerving to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming car that was overtaking a lorry.
PC Pursehouse was a single man from Ashton Keynes, Wiltshire.
