Abducted and shot multiple times as he returned across the border after visiting his girlfriend in the Republic of Ireland.

Constable Anderson was stationed at Rosslea and after finishing duty he drove his van to the southern border of County Fermanagh in Northern Ireland to visit his girlfriend who lived across the border in County Monaghan in the Republic of Ireland.

He was on foot on his way back to his van when he was overpowered by his assailants, dragged up a laneway and repeatedly shot.
