Circumstances

He was one of several officers escorting a large group of people to a race meet at Donington Park Circuit. A car collided with the group, PC Archer sustained fatal injuries, ten other police officers were injured as were two of the civilians.

Ten other police officers and two civilians were injured in the same incident.
