Died nine years after sustaining serious head injuries on 16th August 2002 when his police car was involved in a collision.

Constable Jeffrys died of injuries sustained on 16 August 2002, while driving an unmarked police car at Loch Lomond, which was struck head on by a vehicle on the wrong side of the road, killing the passenger Constable James Clarke, and causing head injuries from which he remained hospitalised until his death.

 

He had joined the police in August 1991 and at the time of his injury had been based in the Traffic at the Road Policing Complex in Govan.

 

He is survived by his wife, a serving officer, and three daughters.
