Roll of Honour Citation
Killed in a terrorist ambush near the village of Ballyrichard, County Cork, after he and other officers were sent, as reinforcements, following an earlier attack in Midleton.
Special Constable Mullen had re-joined the Constabulary after having retired as a Sergeant in 1910.
Constables Arthur W. Thorp and Ernest Cecil Dray were both fatally wounded in the original attack and died from their wounds on 30th and 31st December, respectively.
