Circumstances

Having finished duty she was attacked. Recalling herself to duty to her attacker she was fatally injured.

WPC Sandhu joined the Metropolitan Police on 1st February 1971, serving first in Hornsey, then in Walthamstow and Leyton.

She was the first female Asian police officer in Britain.
