Circumstances

Having commenced duty on the 9th May 2018 he suffered an injury to his shoulder whilst making an arrest. This injury later required surgery which was undetaken on 4th December 2018, during which he suffered a brain injury which proved fatal on 25th December 2018.

PC Cooke had sustained a shoulder injury while making an arrest on 9th May. Seven months later, on 4th December, during an operation to repair the injury, Joseph suffered a brain injury and, as a result, died three weeks later on Christmas Day.
