Shot dead after being captured by terrorists while on duty near Nenagh, County Tipperary.
Shot dead along with his colleague, Constable Thomas Gallivan, after being captured by terrorists while on duty near Nenagh, County Tipperary. Their bodies were then thrown into a bog in Clooneen, in the parish of Cloughjordan, but were recovered four years later. Constable Daly was subsequently buried in Enfield, County Meath.
