Died after being shot in the stomach when three men knocked at his door as he was preparing to move furniture from his home.

Died after being shot in the stomach when three men knocked at his door as he was preparing to move furniture from his home in William Street, Raphoe, County Donegal, to his new home in County Armagh.

 

He was no longer a serving officer at the time of the attack having retired on disbandment from the Royal Irish Constabulary.
