Circumstances

Fatally wounded and died of injuries sustained whilst on duty in Armargh on the 14th when a bomb was thrown by two masked men.

Died from the mortal wounds he sustained nine days earlier, while off duty in Armagh, when a bomb was thrown at him by two masked men, near Todd’s Corner, as he returned from Scotch Street to Russell Street Barracks, after paying for a motor car.
