Fatally injured during an enemy air raid
He was on duty during an air raid at Gillingham and was attempting to assist an injured person who was partly buried by debris, when another bomb fell near him and he himself was buried in debris sustaining injuries from which he later died in St Bartholomew’s Hospital, Rochester.
He was survived by his wife and their son.
