Fatally injured when the police patrol car in which she was the observer left the road and collided with a tree.

WPC Jennings died in Orsett Hospital, Thurrock, from the injuries she sustained in the early hours of Remembrance Sunday 1989, when the police patrol car, in which she was the observer, left the Brentwood Road in Orsett and collided with a tree, while responding to a disturbance at an Acid House Party.

The driver of the vehicle was also seriously injured but survived.

Jo-Ann was appointed to Essex Police on 16th February 1987 and posted to Grays having previously served almost two years with the Special Constabulary. On 23rd October 1989, just three weeks prior to the accident, she transferred to Corringham police station.

Jo-Ann was survived by her parents and sister.
