Died three days after being fatally injured when, on his way home from late-night duty, he was asked to help deal with a man armed with a shotgun at a disturbance in Campbell Square, Northampton. Despite the man threatening to shoot him, Detective Kemp approached the man and was shot in the neck and shoulder.
