Fatally injured while on duty riding his police motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with a car at the junction of Blakes Lane on the A4 Bath Road, in Hare Hatch, Berkshire.

PC 4814, known as “Dixie”, he joined Thames Valley Police in March 1999 having served as a Special Constable with Hampshire Police.

 

Initially posted to Reading he moved to Roads Policing at Chievley, as a motorcyclist and from there went to what is known as the “proactive” team. In this role he “starred” in the TV “fly on the wall” documentary ‘Road Wars’.

 

He is survived by his wife and son.
