Collapsed and died in duty training new recruits.

On duty as an instructor at the Marina pool, Folkestone, being of the staff at No 6 Police training centre, Sandgate he was testing the new police recruits. Having examined the recruits he swam in the pool, he got out and collapsed; two officers began CPR but this was unsuccessful.
