Circumstances

Killed, together with two other officers, Supt Poole and PC Barrett who were fatally injured, in a railway collision at Billing between a ballast train and the passenger train on which they were returning from the Quarter Sessions at Northampton.

Sergeant Wilson was returning from the Quarter Sessions at Northampton with two colleagues, Superintendent Lewis Poole and PC Thomas Barrett who died on 18th and 19th October respectively.
