Died when the RAF helicopter he was onboard crashed whilst transporting him to assist with a mountain rescue.
As the police coordinator of the Killin Mountain Rescue Team he was airlifted by an RAF Wessex helicopter, callsign Rescue 134, to join the team on Ben More to assist with a search and rescue.
As the helicopter came in to hover the main rotor hit a rock, causing the helicopter to crash and slide down the hillside, causing Sergeant Lawrie fatal injuries.
He and the team were carrying out the search for a missing climber, who was later found dead on the hill.
Survived by his wife, two sons and daughter.
