Drowned alongside two colleagues while trying to rescue a man who had entered a very rough sea off Gynn Square, Blackpool, to rescue his dog.

Drowned alongside his colleagues, WPC Angela Bradley and PC Colin Morrison, while trying to rescue a man who had entered a very rough sea off Gynn Square, Blackpool, to rescue his dog. The man also drowned.
