Contracted a severe chill whilst concluding a months night duty during a period of very severe weather and succumbed to pneumonia.

PC Parnham died about 6:30pm at his residence on Aqueduct Street, Preston, having contracted a severe chill ten days earlier, on 30th January.

He was survived by his wife and their young child.
