Circumstances

Killed by three men whom he had recognised as known criminals, and realised were in possession of stolen property. Having alerted the police, he followed the men, who knew him to be a Special Constable. They ambushed him and beat him to death.

George was off duty at the time of the incident but having alerted the police he followed the men who knew him to be a Special Constable.

They subsequently ambushed the officer and beat him to death.
