Circumstances

With two CID colleagues he had stopped to question the occupants of a van parked in Braybrook Street near Wormwood Scrubs prison. PC Fox waited in the police car while the Detectives spoke to the occupants of the van. Upon seeing the detectives shot PC Fox attempted to reverse but was fatally shot through the window.

PC Fox was shot and killed by the rear-seat passenger of a van parked in Braybrook Street, near Wormwood Scrubs prison, as he attempted to drive away after seeing his colleagues, DS Christopher Tippet Head and Temporary DC David Stanley Bertram Wombwell, had been shot and killed while questioning the van’s three occupants.
