Circumstances

Died from head and internal injuries sustained the previous evening, while protecting the scene of a broken down vehicle on the A12 dual carriageway at Colchester. In dark and misty conditions he was on foot wearing reflective clothing, whilst setting out cones he was struck by a passing car.
