Fatally shot by terrorist gunmen, while off duty, going to his workplace.
Reserve Constable Wilson worked for the Housing Executive, had parked his car near the rear entrance to his office in Franklyn Street, Belfast.
He stopped to speak to a colleague in the street, when a motorcycle drew level with them. The pillion passenger then shot R/Con Wilson at close range in the head with a handgun. The gunmen drove off and then abandoned the motorcycle in Alfred Street and made off on foot into the Markets area. The motorcycle had been hijacked on the Falls Road.
He was married with a son and a daughter.
