Fatally shot by terrorist gunmen, while off duty, going to his place of work.

Reserve Constable Wilson, who worked for the Housing Executive, had parked his car near the rear entrance to his office in Franklyn Street, Belfast.

He had stopped to speak to a colleague in the street when a motorcycle drew level with them. The pillion passenger then shot Frederick in the head with a handgun at close range. The gunmen drove away and then abandoned the motorcycle in Alfred Street before making off on foot into the Markets area. The motorcycle had earlier been hijacked on the Falls Road.

Reserve Constable Wilson was married with a son and a daughter.
