Collapsed and died from heart disease in Tuffley, Gloucester, while walking home from duty.
After leaving Tuffley police station about 2:30pm, PC Treasure headed towards Bristol Road and, at 5:00pm, met another officer at Hempsted Bridge where they spoke for about half-an-hour. Leaving the other officer Frederick, seemingly in good health, set off towards the Gas Works.
About 6:15pm PC Treasure spoke to a local man, saying he’d been in Bristol Road for three hours and that his hands and feet were as cold as ice.
Soon after, at the end of Tuffley Lane, another man wished the officer a “Good Night” but, as they passed, Frederick fell with a heavy sigh, striking his head on a gate and dying almost immediately.
Based on a doctor’s examination, death was determined to be caused through heart disease.
PC Treasure was a married man and a holder of the Police Meritorious Service Medal.
