Killed by a terrorist booby-trap bomb while examining a crime scene in a field adjoining Belcoo RUC base, County Fermanagh.
His colleagues, Sergeant Henry Francis Keys and Reserve Constable Thomas Henry Evans, were also killed in the same incident.
