Died from the injuries she sustained the previous day when a mortar bomb struck her police vehicle.

On the night of 27 March, Constable McMurray was the passenger in an unmarked police car which was the lead vehicle in a two vehicle patrol.

Constable McMurray and her colleagues were returning to Corry Square Police Station after providing security support to officers entering the town for a change of shift, while also providing routine community policing.

As they travelled along Merchants Quay beside the canal in Newry a horizontal mortar hidden in a parked car was donated. It struck the lead police vehicle seriously injuring both Constable McMurray and her colleague.

She was taken to hospital but died later on the 28 March.

She was survived by her husband.
