Killed when the police car in which he was a rear-seat passenger was struck from behind while stationary.

PC Baker was killed in a road accident while taking part in a refresher driving course on the A418 near Cuddington, between Thame and Aylesbury when, just before 10:30am, the police car, in which he was a rear seat passenger, was struck from behind by a seventeen- tonne lorry and thrown thirty-five yards into a ditch while stationary, waiting to turn right.

Two other officers were injured in the collision but were both discharged from hospital the following day.

The driver of the lorry, a twenty-three-year-old man, was convicted of driving without due care and attention, fined and disqualified from driving for two years.

Adi, as he was known, had served with the force for eight years after joining in March 1992.

He was initially stationed in Reading, then Princes Risborough before transferring to Aylesbury.
