Collapsed and died while he was working on night duty.
On night duty he suddenly collapsed and died despite the efforts of his colleagues and paramedics.
Ian joined Gloucestershire Constabulary as a Special Constable in March 2006 and served with them for 13 years, leaving in September 2019.
He took up a position as a call handler in the Force Control Room at Thames Valley Police in April 2016, leaving in January 2019.
Ian then joined the Ministry of Defence Police in January 2019 and was based at the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment in Reading. Upon leaving this position in February 2022, he transferred back to Gloucestershire Constabulary in March 2022.
Ian was first posted to the Local Policing Investigation Hub in July 2022 until he was posted back to Cheltenham and Tewkesbury as a local Policing Constable. He continued to serve there until he died.
