Circumstances

Following discipline proceedings where he had been reduced in rank and transferred away from home, he took his own life by cutting his throat while off duty and the balance of his mind was disturbed.

PC Peters had earlier been the subject of disciplinary proceedings as a result of which he was demoted in rank and transferred away from home.
