Sustained a injury when hit by a train which later proved fatal.
Died in an infirmary following an accident, one week earlier, when he attempted to board a moving pilot engine, but lost his footing and fell to the ground. One of the engine’s wheels passed over his right foot which was later amputated but his injuries led to his subsequent death.
