Fatally injured while on duty riding his police motorcycle when he was involved in a collision with a car at the junction of Blakes Lane on the A4 Bath Road, in Hare Hatch, Berkshire.
Known as “Dixie”, PC 4814 James Dixon joined Thames Valley Police in March 1999 having previously served as a Special Constable with Hampshire Police.
After initially being posted to Reading he moved to the Roads Policing Unit at Chievley as a motorcyclist and from there moved to what is known as ‘The Proactive Team’. In this role he “starred” in the TV “fly on the wall” documentary ‘Road Wars’.
He is survived by his wife and son.
