Fatally shot, together with two colleagues, when terrorist gunmen attacked their patrol as it returned from Ballyronan, near Magherafelt, County Londonderry.
USC Special Constable Thomas J. Hunter and RIC Sergeant Frederick J. Frizelle died on 3rd and 4th May respectively.
