Died from the wounds he sustained eleven days earlier when his mobile patrol was ambushed by terrorists in County Clare.

Died from the wounds he sustained eleven days earlier, when his mobile patrol was ambushed by a large terrorist unit at Glenwood House, between Sixmilebridge and Broadford, County Clare. Four officers died during the attack and another died on 25th January.
