Killed when the police box in which he had taken shelter was struck by a bomb during an enemy air raid.
Killed alongside his colleague, PC Mornington Alfred Clements, when the police box in which they had taken shelter, at the junction of the Quadrant and Wallsend Road, was struck by a bomb during an enemy air raid. PWRC Murray was a retired Police Inspector who re-joined the force to assist during the war.
