Families, friends and colleagues of police officers and members of police staff who gave their lives in the service of others are being invited to share personal messages of remembrance through a new Digital Tribute Wall.

Launched as part of the new joint Digital Memorial developed by the Police Arboretum Memorial Trust and the Police Remembrance Trust, it provides a permanent online space where those wanting to remember the fallen can leave tributes – messages linked to a specific officer can also be linked directly to their citation on the Police Roll of Honour, ensuring their stories and memories are preserved for future generations.

The Digital Tribute Wall has been unveiled as part of commemorations marking the fifth anniversary of the dedication of the UK Police Memorial. Dedicated in the presence of His Majesty The King, then HRH The Prince of Wales, at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire in 2021, the Memorial now welcomes around 400,000 visitors each year and stands as the nation’s permanent place of remembrance for policing.

A special Ceremony of Remembrance will take place at the National Memorial Arboretum on Tuesday, 28 July 2026, exactly five years after the Memorial was dedicated, bringing together families, senior policing leaders and representatives from across the policing family to honour the courage, service and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in the line of duty.

The Tribute Wall has been created to ensure that remembrance continues beyond the physical Memorial, enabling stories, memories and reflections to be shared and preserved for future generations. Visitors to the Digital Memorial will be able to read the tributes celebrating the lives, service and legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in policing.

Chair of the Joint Charities Digital Working Group, James Slessor said:

The UK Police Memorial ensures that those who gave their lives in service to others are never forgotten. Behind every name is a story of courage, dedication and public service, but also a family, circle of friends and colleagues whose lives were changed forever.

The Tribute Wall provides an opportunity for those remembering officers who died in service, to share memories, reflections and personal messages. Together, these tributes will create a lasting legacy that helps future generations understand not only the sacrifice that was made, but the lives that were lived, and the impact on those left behind.

Families, friends, colleagues and members of the public are encouraged to visit the Digital Memorial and leave a tribute in memory of those who gave their lives in service to others.
