Died of mesothelioma that he contracted due to exposure to asbestos during police training.

Circumstances

He died of mesothelioma which he contracted due to exposure to asbestos whilst engaged in police training at various military sites in his capacity as a firearms officer.

Died in retirement, of malignant mesothelioma resulting from exposure to asbestos during firearms training at military sites over many years, while a firearms officer and member of the Birmingham Airport Police Firearms Unit.

Keith joined Birmingham City Police in 1967 and after amalgamation in 1974 he worked at Erdington and Aston as an area car driver. For his last ten years he was a full-time Firearms Team member, retiring in 1995 after 28 years service.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters and son.
