Circumstances

Shot dead by terrorist gunmen, in a pub on his way home from duty.

Shot dead by terrorists while on his way home from duty, in the Talk of the Town Bar, Maguiresbridge, County Fermanagh. The barman was also killed.

The gunmen fled the scene, leaving a small bomb that exploded 45 minutes later and started a fire. The bar had been evacuated and there were no injuries from the bomb blast and fire.

DC Breen was married with a young child.
