Circumstances

Killed, together with two other officers, PC Barrett and Sgt Wilson who were fatally injured, in a railway collision at Billing between a ballast train and the passenger train on which they were returning from the Quarter Sessions at Northampton.

Killed when the passenger train, on which he and two other officers were travelling, was in collision with a train carrying ballast at Billing, as they returned from the Quarter Sessions at Northampton. PC Thomas Barrett died from his injuries the following day and PS Isaac Wilson died on 14th November.
